#wanderingseouls DAY 48 OF 139 / Namiseom

Woke up to a sunny morning and made our way on a 1.5h subway ride out of Seoul to the prettiest place, Nami Island also well-known for the filming place of Winter Sonata! It's actually pretty easy to navigate around Nami once you reach Gapyeong station, you can hop on a bus tour for only 5000won for the whole day, as long as you dont travel here on a peak period like us (dramas to be expected later in the post ._.)!

First stop is to the Namiseom where we need to purchase the ferry ticket and visa to get there!

The ferry ride was really chill and not shaky at all, and in the midst, guess what I found? *beams*

And tada! We're here at pretty Nami Island! We were immediately greeted by the 2 rows of towering trees along its path and some signs of Autumn! :)

I'll let the pictures explain the beauty of this little island :D

After exploring the island (which isn't very big, maybe just an hour or so to finish?), we took the ferry back to hop on the tour bus to the next itinerary of the day, Petite France which is just about 15min drive away. We joined the wrong queue initially and changed shortly, and waited at least 1.5h for the next bus when the bus should come in 30min interval on weekends. The roads were so jammed with the cars there it was practically impossible for cars to move. The wait was insane and it took a long time before we finally reached Petite France. As I printed some discount coupons online, the tickets were about 20% cheaper!

Petite France is just a total disappointment for me, I really wanted to visit this place since it was featured in so many shows i.e. Secret Garden, You Who Came From The Stars and Running Man. But grrr, the settings that you see on TV is basically what you get here, nothing more. The place is tiny it's really not worth the time imo ):

At the plaza where RM filmed :D

I don't have money to visit France now, so I guess I'll make do with this for now?

The total nightmare came when we hopped on the bus to go back to Gapyeong station to go home. The bus passed by the jammed road at Namiseom Ferry again for almost an hour or so and the bus was basically stuck. Later on the driver told us that we should attempt to walk to the station since it'll be faster than to wait for the jam to clear as it might possibly take another 2h. GRRRR it's actually not that bad cos it's only 2km+ but I didn't expect us to stay this late and was wearing freaking summer clothes with no outerwear. It's late evening and temperature had already dropped to 18deg. But yes we decided to brave the cold and walk anyway and it was insane, it was ultra chilly when the wind blew and I was just like shivering with the non-existent scarf I had hahaha but I was considered quite macho to tahan all the way adapting to the temp in a short while hahahha. Took a really crowded train without seats, another 1.5h back to Seoul!

On this trip, there were so many people that asked me for directions! Especially local ahjummas hahaha do I look Korean to you... Anyway I'm really glad to be a Singaporean and know quite a lot of languages. I was asking directions to a couple in Korean and they didn't understand so I asked in English, they replied in Mandarin, and they conversed in Cantonese so I ended talking to them in Canto hahahaha. My basic Korean also abled allow me to converse alright too and many locals mistaken me for Korean cos I sound Korean with their accent (cos I learn Korean from dramas lolol) so I'm secretly damn proud for learning more languages as I go along haha ok end of showing off byeeeeee :D
