#jejunni DAY 2 / 3 Weekend getaway to Jeju!

We woke up really early to start off the day asap since the time in Jeju per day is short given it's early closing. Our hostel provided free toast and jam for breakfast, bonus! :D Plan for the day was to go to Udo Island > Seongsan Ilchulbong Sunrise Peak > Manjanggul Cave (which we eventually skipped due to insufficient time).

On a side note, traveling around Jeju is really convenient from the bus terminal so you don't need to drive (on the contrary to popular belief) cos the buses go to most tourist spots and there aren't many stops along the way, It's cheaper and you get a chauffeur, need I say more? Haha and the intervals are frequent so there's no long waiting time too!

These 3 places are conveniently located along the east of Jeju so we took a bus #710 (or 701) if I'm not wrong from the Jeju intercity terminal to the last stop, Seongsan Port which took us probably around 1.5h bus ride for 3000KRW.

Bought ferry tickets + admission to Udo Island for 5500KRW each and we're on our way to the most beautiful place 牛岛~~

About 15min of ride and there we see the port at U-do!

You can easily rent an ATV/scooters/bikes at Udo for a reasonable prices but some require international licence. We were both lazy and the weather was rainy the entire day so it doesn't make sense for us to ride against the rain. For travelers like us that just want a chillax ride, hop on a bus tour which is about 5min walk on the left upon reaching the Udo port. The bus tour only costs 5000KRW per pax and it takes you to 4 main places you should visit in Udo. Buses come in 30-min interval so you can hop on the next bus once you're done sightseeing :)

First stop is the Udo Lighthouse Park that I've seen in shows and wanted to visit yet didn't know this was actually here! It's definitely my favourite place of the trip! It's really chill and pretty, the view is amazing and there's nothing not to love at all! Perhaps just the horse dung... :'D

The cliffs seems to resemble a cow's head so I thought it's named after a cow cos of that but no, I just researched and realised the island look like a cow laying down flat. But whatever haha let your imagination run wild, I see a cow there :b

These should be the culprits for the horse dung... PONIES! I was so looking forward to riding a pony but it was so expensive, 10000KRW (~$12.50) for 5 minutes ride? NO. Sobblessss but no worries, I'll ride a pony with my prince charming one day, or maybe on my Aussie trip which should be happening in the next 2 years :D

Look at the uhmazingggg view! I finally understood why so many people recommended me to go to Udo 'cos it's really worth it! I lovee how Jeju is so chillax and laidback unlike Seoul/SG.

Hiked a little on the steep slopes and we reached the peak! We can see Seongsan Ilchulbong which we are gonna hike later on from here as well~
 *Cues Sound of Music song*

2nd stop of the bus tour stops at the Geommeolle Black Sand Beach hidden in a Canyon.

It's a small but pretty beach with black sand literally so the beach felt really different and I really liked it!

Before we left for the bus, we bought the famous peanut ice cream for 4000KRW (~S$5) which was not too bad but a little pricey.

We didn't alight the remaining 2 stops as it was still raining and they were simply beaches we weren't really interested. Took the ferry back to Seongsan Port and cabbed to Seongsan Ilchulbong which was nearby for some seafood stew, the most awaited meal of the trip as recommended by many friends!

Randomly came into one seafood restaurant at the foot of the peak and apparently this restaurant is pretty popular with tons of signatures around the interior.

Seafood stew is served at 40000KRW for 2 pax! LOOK AT THOSE HUGEASS ABALONES AND SCALLOP

The seafood were mostly alive and moving throughout so it's really fresh albeit a little painful to watch. There was a crab hidden underneath with lots of shells so it's super value for money. How do you get this for S$25/pax anywhere else?!

All cooked and done, the soup was soooooo fresh omg Imma miss this so so so baddd

After filling up our tummies, we are ready to brave the rain to hike the Sunrise Peak woohoo #yolo We were contemplating to skip it due to the rain BUT NO, nothing can bring us down lezgo

Tickets 2000KRW each and off we hike!

Check out our unglam ootd to brave the rain and the steps HAHAHA

Look at that gorgeous view on the way up!

Finally made it up with the crater behind us, view is pretty worth it and the hike was really short, about 20min max? It's nothing compared to hiking Mt. Bukhansan yo. :'D

Now we gonna make out way back down hahaha stairs again T.T

Rewarded ourselves with some sweet treat hehehe

We weren't satisfied from the ice cream and went to a quaint cafe nearby for some really decent thick  hot green tea latte! Love matcha maxxxxxx

Despite the rainy weather the entire day, we had a really good time! Kudos to our #yolo selves for braving the rain all the way :D Prior to the trip, we hardly planned much except for the places we wanna visit so it's really lucky that we managed to navigate so easily and timing for hopping the next bus were so accurate unplanned!

We took bus #710 (or 701) back to Jeju intercity terminal and wandered around to look for a dinner place since most shops were closed already. Pork ribs for dinner!

I've been really scrimpy with my meals, cooking most of the time so I really had some decent good meals in Jeju not having to think about saving money hehhe MEATTTTTTT iz orhsum
