#jejunni DAY 1 / 3 Weekend getaway to Jeju!

Helloooo it's weekend again! No not really, weekend came earlier for me since I skipped one class today to catch a flight... a long awaited flight to Jeju! It's on my bucket list to visit Jeju at least once and I've do it since I'm on exchange in Korea now! The #shiokseumnida girls couldn't go with me so I FB messaged Liz that was exchanging at Yonsei and we made quick arrangements less than a week before we depart!

Our flight from Gimpo Domestic Airport to Jeju was scheduled 1440 but when we reached the airport, we realised that there was a notification sent to us earlier that the flight has been delayed to 1630 D: It means screwing up our schedules since we'd reach a lot later than expected. We went to the standby counter and were so thankful to be put on a flight earlier departing 1500 instead. A* to T'way Air for customer service! We got our tickets at 99,800KRW (~S$123) as we selected the shittier timings but it's pretty worth it and drinks were served onboard, not all too bad for a budget carrier?

Say hi to my qt travel buddy for the next 3 days~

It was a bumpy flight throughout and I was feeling a little motion sickness afterwards, thankful it got better later. We took bus #100 from the airport outside Gate 2 and reached Dongmun Rotary stop where our accommodations were; Forest Hostel is located conveniently near the intercity bus terminal in Jeju city so I'd encourage all travelers to stay somewhere nearby!

We checked in to a twin room with biggggg beds (super single beds are a luxury now even though I've my bigass king-sized bed at home T.T) and the room was pretty spacious though it could be cleaner but I shan't complain since I felt that it's pretty good enough for the price we were paying, 55,000KRW (~$35)/night/2pax.

We initially planned to visit a museum or something given our leftover time but apparently Jeju has no night life; all shops closes by evening and traveling between tourist spots normally take more than an hour so we ended having dinner at the Black Pork Street which is just a street behind our hostel.

Ordered a Black Pork BBQ set for 39000KRW (~$50) for 2 pax and it's the most crowded restaurant around. Black pork bbq is one of the must-haves so we were really looking forward to this meal, starving from our flight :b

All cooked and ready for the wraps! It actually taste pretty much like normal pork but slightly more fatty and flavourful?

With no itinerary to do for the day, we ended exploring the place near our hostel which was a pretty hapz place considering Jeju is so quiet at night. There's Dongmun Night Market (which still closes pretty early, like by 9pm ._.) right opposite our hostel.

There were stalls selling oranges or some sort of citrus fruit called Hallabong named after Mt. Hallasan. There were also tons of snacks Jeju is famous for and we bought some rice crackers and loved it! Bought some back home for my friends so wait for it guysssss, it's super addictive :D

We called it a night relatively early and attempted to do some covers in our room but failed HAHAHA. Turns out Liz and my voice sound rather similar despite the difference in range haha can't wait to do a proper cover with you soon babe!
