Bangkok 2012 - Day 3

An unplanned day in BKK! It was surprisingly good I'd say. Joce and her mum headed back to Platinum since they didn't finish shopping the day before so headed separate ways for the day. Instead, I brought my mum around for a little adventure of roaming around finding the places that Justin introduced me. Lucky I've good navigation/sense of directions, didn't lose our way and had no problems of finding everything he told me teehee. Think he gave me really clear instructions too! :D

Day started with usual breakfast at hotel followed by morning market! Yes! Finally managed to shop there. Clothes there are alot cheaper, mostly below 200baht (S$8) so I'm more willing to spend. Except, quality is not really very good so really have to dig (with your eyes lol). Managed to get a bit of clothes ^^

Plan of the day is to go to Terminal 21, a new shopping mall with themed decors of different countries. Justin said it's worth a visit, especially since I've nothing planned for the day anymore. Walked to Siam BTS to take the train there.

Camwhore along the way and managed to figure a better passage way to Siam, the Sky Walk! Previous day we walked along the roads to get to Siam and it was horrible, the stench, bumpy roads and crazy traffic! The Sky Walk could easily get us to the same place, except it's a bridge connecting the malls.

Here we are, me very touristy as usual teehee. Their train tickets reminds me of those we used to have in SG before we had ezlinks.

4 stations and we reached Asok Station! Terminal 21 is super easily accessible since it's right beside the station!

I must say, I'm really glad I came. It's really worth a visit if you've enough time to spare and wanna chillax instead of chionging shopping in BKK. The mall feels really ATAS with the ultra pretty decors!

Starting with the toilet. Chandeliers what the freak, the mirrors, all so prettyyyyyyyyyy!

On the streets of Paris. Hahahaha eh no, just a level themed Paris. Gorgeoussssssssss!

Spot the super cute signs! Departure and arrivals when you take the escalator to a new city (level). How cute! Here's Tokyo! Managed to buy some things here. Surprisingly, prices of some shops here are comparable to Platinum, if not cheaper. Of course that's only very minimal, but still unexpected surprise! :D

London!

San Francisco! Gotta say this is the nicest of all!

There were alot of restaurants around so we didn't know what to pick for lunch. Finally settled on a Jap BBQ, beef set only 699 baht (S$28+) for 2, and the beef is those high quality one!

One of our best meals there, being ultra beef lovers. Mama loves it too :)

Trained back to Siam afterwards and shopped around the malls there. Teatime at Siam Paragon Toastbox. Look at the coffee with the spoon -.- They ran out of teaspoons and gave mummy this normal big spoon instead. And fruity strawberry banana toast without banana cos they ran out of banana. Lol!

Another favourite shopping destination for most Singaporeans, Naraya at Central World! Look at me with the shopping bags, so unglam zomg. Gotta say this shop is awesome to buy 'zappalang' things and also small gifts for friends and relatives! Bought some totes and pouches. Mine is all in houndstooth prints teehee :D

Walked back to Platinum, not the fashion shopping mall but the new extension beside it, known for selling bags and handbags. I kinda like it a lot better, clothes nicer for some and loads of shoes! Handbags kind pricey so I didn't manage to get any ):

Then we walked backwards a bit to try the street food zichar stall that Justin recommended. It's always nice to try something that the locals eat.
Food! The prawns were really expensive and it's not nice at all. 600 baht (S$24) for that plate of bbq prawns, really waste money ): Interesting that they always place a plate of greens for the locals to eat them raw. Not that I can accept eating that raw myself but it's just a local culture! Salted baked fish and tom yum!

Drama happens when suddenly, it started pouring! The vendors didn't had enough time to set up the covers so the customers started to pass it on from one end to another. I opened my umbrella to ensure my food don't get soaked in the rain lol. EPIC. It was damn memorable hahahhaha!

On the way back to hotel, we bought bbt which was surprisingly good along Platinum mall.

Crossed the bridge and it started pouring like mad. Got stuck for quite a bit before we chiong our way back to hotel through Pratunam with only one umbrella. Floods is prominent whenever it pours due to uneven grounds so was quite drenched when we finally reached the hotel lol.

Here, my buys for Day 2! 4 tops, 3 shirts, 1 dress, 3 bottoms and some Naraya buys. 5 pairs of flats! Easy matching to prepare for uni life heheheh. Except the polkadots one which I couldn't resist hahaha. And leopard prints one ._.

When the rain finally stopped, we went back down to buy some street food! Padthai again, egg omelette with oyster and mango sticky rice! Sadly a different vendor cooked so the padthai wasn't as good as the first day ):
