Last day at Bangkok, it's a weekend! Same routine in the morning. Breakfast and shopped morning market. Packed up and checked out early before we cabbed to our main destination for the day!
It's the weekend market, Chatuchak! It's really well known especially for its size of 33 km square with 15000 over shops. Seriously no joke. Here's a map to show how big it is!
We started out around 11, and decided to meet up again at the exact same spot by 3. We started at the very end of one side of the market so thought that we could make one round to go back to the same place. Anyway, shopping began!
For shopaholics out there, target Section 2 and 3 as they have most and best clothes there, a little pricey though. Didn't manage to get much things. Got to try this famous coconut ice cream which is damn good!
30baht (S$1.20) for coconut ice cream with the meat nicely scraped out and 2 toppings of your choice! IT'S SUPER AWESOME!
Shopped until tired and we randomly went to massage! Foot and shoulder for 200baht, 45min. It's damn shiok and not really pain. So different from what I've expected! Gotta say it's a great experience too!
Had lunch at another random hawker in the centre and the food is really good! One of the best authentic thai food meal for the trip!
First time trying papaya salad and it's super refreshing! I really loveeeeee it maxxx.
Some ice sticks for a few cents? Lol no taste one ._.
Pets section! Ultra love! Super lots of cuddly little doggies! I how love dogs?! Really miss my baby little boy back at home! >.< Bought a cushion bed for him, super cheap here!
As mentioned earlier, we were supposed to meet up at 3. We started walking back to the place from 1+ and couldn't get back to where we were from. The place is seriously freaking big and navigating there is damn difficult. Coincidentally I actually bumped into a huge group of my sec school friends. Jeredy called out 'Jing Yi' and I was like super stunned. Who the heck would yell out my name in a foreign country like that? Hahahaha! What's the probability of bumping into them in a foreign city, and in such a huge market like this?
Anyway, at that time I looked damn cui cos it was mad hot and we were desperate already, could not get back to the same spot. While we were wandering around, Jocelyn walked the wrong route and bumped into us! Omg thank goodness we found each other. I wonder if we'd even get back to the same spot if we didn't bump into each other!
Cabbed back to hotel, packed our buys into our luggage. Had more time so headed back to Platinum to eat and bought some gifts and the ah ma trolley luggage to dump all the additional things inside before we head to the airport via the city line again! Look at us with our black and white luggages! Haha!
Finally at the airport! Wheeee finally back to Singapore!
Check-in was really slow, took like 45 min due to the crowd and some time to clear immigration. We reached airport 2 hours earlier but had no time to eat! We ended up dabao-ing but nearly missed the flight! Last call and we were the last 10 pax to board. Ran like crazy with the food and the gate was damn freaking far. Damn drama please!
Thank god we managed to board in time, delayed again but it's alright, we're finally back to Singapore! This trip wasn't as good as expected despite the shopping since it wasn't as fruitful. Ironically it made me realised how much I appreciate Singapore :) There's no where better than home.
