Hihi it's Day 3 of Seoul and it already feels like we've been here for a really long time. We decided to have a 'chill' day and take a walk around Sam Cheong Dong (三清洞) and Bukchon Hanok Village. This is a rather touristy place with lots of cafes and boutiques around. Gotta be a picture heavy post! :D
We headed to Anguk before out longggg journey of finding our way. The walk is supposed to be 10min but we ended taking the wrong road at one turn and took a long walk to Sam Cheong Dong. As usual, the roads are really steep and bumpy so walking is a torture and heels is a definite no-no! We made a big turn but finally managed to make our way pass Bukchon Hanok Village first. As the name suggest, Han is 韩, ok is 屋, so it's actually a cluster of vintage styled korean houses which are reallyyyy pretty!
A picture of us even when we got lost, hehe the simpsons couple :b
Finally on the right route to bukchon/samcheongdong and we spot pretty cafes/houses like these!
Yes, we're here! Quite a bit of tourists here with their selfie sticks vlogging/camwhoring haha
My travel buddies for the past few days, nothing short of awesome :D #shiokseumnida!
And loving my #seoulsister sherriseyo :D
Pictures galore :b Everywehere is too photogenic to miss! These houses are all occupied so it's strongly advised that tourists do not make too much noise to avoid disturbing the occupants.
On the way to Sam Cheong Dong, we passed by such lovely scenery, not sure what mountain is that but hello? How can we see a mountain along town in Singapore?! Loving this city more and more each day :D
We weren't sure of the exact way but found this steep slope which is a plausible route. Hahah not for the weak hearted souls afraid of heights!
Beautiful murals all around!
Tada! After some gruelling hours of walking and tummy rumbling, we're finally here! The prettiest street ever, filled with quaint cafes all so gorgeous!
We tried the Honeycomb Ice Cream which is pretty famous and IT'S SO GOOD. Previously I read that this sells out pretty quickly but apparently there's no crowd here. It may be an imitation but it's really good so who cares? :b
It's really good and way better than llaollao, although its different since this is ice cream but it's about the same price? Super milky and the honeycomb is chewy and sweet ahhhh so goodddddd ^^
Finally managed to settle our lunch at a little shop that looks inexpensive since the cafes here are all pretty pricey. The first shop we went to didn't allow us to share dishes so we headed out hahaha budget travelers iz us :b
Su Jae Bi, handmade noodles really similar to mee hun kuay in SG. The kimchi freeflow is awesome too!
2-person serving of sujaebi (7000won ea) and a pajeon (pancake, 12000 won) was enough to feed all of us so well!
More random shots along SCD after a satisfying meal (super thirsty afterwards though!) ~
There we found the proper road back to where we came from, instead of the steep stairs haha!
On the way back to the train station, Wen Min spotted an actor in a little shop and we recognized him! He acted in lots of dramas I've seen, recent popular ones like 'The Heirs' and 'I Can Hear Your Voice'. Our first k-star spotted! He was really friendly and were surprised that we could speak good Korean and even shared with us that he's been to SG before hehe
Spot the locals all dipping their foot along the stream, we monkey-see-monkey-do and it's so refreshing! A little too refreshing actually, the water was sooooo cold that our feet turned numbed in a short while despite the normal weather (28deg) today.
After that, we walked around and settled at a random cafe, Booza Chicken that sells chimaek (chicken + maekju; beer), a really popular combination in Korea
The 4 of us shared a bottle of beer (4,000 won) and a chicken (18,000 won) only and called it a night. We don't really eat that much here and walk alot, especially the slopes and stairs, cardio! I guess this is how the Koreans maintain their figures despite the humongous food servings!
Had a great day exploring, losing our ways and taking pictures/vlogs with these darlings. Our new hashtag is #shiokseumnida haha I think I'm a queen of creating punny hashtags? Hehehe tomorrow is shopping day again teeheeeeee :D
