#wanderingseouls DAY 10 OF 143 / Insadong x Myeongdong

Hi! We woke up really early to head to Jonggak for our Alien Card Registration. Apparently foreigners are considered aliens so we have to register ourselves haha. The procedures are relatively easy but you have to wait for 3 weeks or so for it to process and it costs KRW30,000! ):

Anyway, while waiting for our turn after getting the queue numbers, we decided to explore the vicinity and find our way to Insadong which is pretty nearby.

On the way, we found this Bonsingak bell used in the Joseon Dynasty to keep time! There were guards dressed up in the costumes around and it wasn't opened to public like it's supposed to, so we didn't manage to get in ):

On the way to Insadong, there was an ahjumma that asked me for directions and I just told her the way I found on the internet. She then realised I was a foreigner and was like 'Oh then you wouldn't know better than me...'. LOL but anyway I pointed her to the right direction instead of this ahjumma I asked that led me to an opp direction which I didn't trust HAHA

Insadong is really pretty with lots of shops selling touristy stuffy like dragon beard candy looking thing and antiques. However, those aren't interesting at all hahaha the best is ssamziegil located near the end of Insadong gil where we see this really cute building with the levels build on a spiral slope so all you have to do is the take an elevator to the top level and need not worry about steps since you can just slowly shop your way down :)

They sell loads of artsy fartsy crafts and accessories which both Sherri and I really enjoyed walking. There are also lots of beautiful art and murals here worth a photo. Alive museum (something like trick eye museum) is also here too! Worth a visit here! :D

This is the poop themed cafe haha they sell food in poop shaped and the messages on the windows are all poopiesss too :b

Another stall selling poop bun hahaha dubious looking so we didn't try

There's this love bridge thingy where people buy some kind of tags to write some love message to hang but it's freaking expensive, KRW5000 (S$6.20) just for one!

Pretty sure the cafe earns tons simply selling the tags. We couldn't afford one so managed to find a tag that is empty/worn off without words and left our mark there :b

Like mentioned, there're lots of quirky stores here and this is a kitty one which Sherri adores hehe

There're some really legit looking restaurants just beside ssamziegil and we picked this very first one along the street. Prices are pretty affordable, it being in such an authentic little restaurant!

There we go, doenjang (soybean) bibimbap which is really really good and sundubu jjigae (spicy tofu soup)! This two serving is only KRW12,000 (S$15)!

Best bibimbap so far, prefer doenjang paste over gochujang (chilli paste)!

The restaurants there were really pretty so it calls for another shot :b

On the way back to the seongno immigration office for our alien card, we passed by Jogyesa Temple nearby which apparently has a 500-year history, pretty magnificent!

We did our alien card after 3 hours and headed to Myeong Dong to check it out. It was really pretty crowded as usual with lots of tourists! There were beauty stores one after another and the cycle repeats. I've no idea why one company would set up so many multiple branches within the same area. Well the good thing is that, we get free samples/masks whereever we go. Tip, quicky stuff the mask into your back once u get it so that they won't take it back from you when you decide not to buy anything from the store #cheapskatekiasusingaporean

Trying the 32cm soft serve ice cream in matcha!

Dinner is served at a little restaurant again with affordable prices!

Craving for something soupy and ordered army stew at KRW6,000, didn't know it came with rice when it already has ramyun and danghoon inside. It's pretty filling that I barely touched the rice :/

Sherri's red bean porridge which tasted like a dessert, pretty nice but too gelat for a main

We were wandering on the streets before we bumped into some people from Rachel Livingtel and ended up going home with some of them. We passed by Lotte Duty Free Mart on the way and bought Krispy Kreme homeeeee!

There's a star avenue with lots of kpop stars' handprints and here's me 'touching' taec's hands woohoo

Long vlog for today :D
