Bangkok 2012 - Day 1

Time for a getaway! Trip planned to BKK with my mum, Jocelyn and her mum. I know right, weird combo hahaha. Thought it'd be better that we travel together so that we can look out for one another in a foreign city! And for the longest time, I really wanted to go to Bangkok after hearing about the good shopping places there. How can a budget shopaholic like me not go there? HAHAHA.

Wanted to try Scoot airline and booked the tickets during May when the fares were newly released together with the route! :D

Checking in! The timing for the flights weren't exactly that amazing considering we waste the first day to arrive around 7pm local thai time (GMT +7) So our 4d3n trip is more like a 3d3n! Expected that I'll shop alot, we only brought a small little luggage to check-in and planned to buy those ahma trolley bag when we return teehee.

So touristy to camwhore at the airside hohoho. Airport is loveeeeee.

There we go! Evening flight, scooting away too BKK!

Due to BKK airport's busy traffic as only 1 runway is operating, delay was quite bad. Anyway the takeoff from SG was an awesome one. The pilot just swerved into the runway and took off immediately. Whheeeee!

More touristy shots when we finally reached. Took some time to clear immigration and collect our bags.

As BKK is known for its bad traffic, we avoided cabbing by taking an express train to our hotel. Took the City Line to Ratchaprarop. I'm still amazed by how the ticket office staff managed to understand where I wanted to go because the words are all so hard to pronounce!

Train ride lasted for 30 min followed by a 10min bumpy walk lugging our luggages from station to our hotel. Booked Budacco Hotel for this entire trip and I totally love it! Best of the trip ever :)

Some snapshots of our PINK room! Thanks Joce for letting me on the pink one while she gets a yellow one! Apologies for the messiness of the room hahahaha.
I don't think I can expect anything more, for a super budget accommodation as good as this. King sized bed some more. It's really clean and comfy too! FREE WIFI WOOHOO. Location is perfect since it's almost directly below Baiyoke Sky :)

By the time we settled down, it's already almost 9 there. Walked through night market downstairs and bought some street food for dinner/supper lol. Had the simply best Pad Thai ever. And it's only freaking 30baht. HELLO, S$1.20! ZOMG. Kebab was not bad too!

Filled up our tummies and turned in early before shopping officially starts tomorrow! :D
