The day started really early today as it's Day 1 of orientation for all exchange students at Korea University! All the students staying at Rachel Livingtel met and walked together to school which is approx 10-20min walk depending on which part of campus you're heading, which sadly to say Biz school is pretty far ):
I didn't manage to take some nice pictures but you get the idea, KU is a really grand and gorgeous campus!
The orientation started with 2 hours of boring talks and introductions which I struggled to keep myself awake. All of us were split up so I was in Group 6, 'SIX ON THE BEACH', yeah so punny but... wth. It was pretty interesting interacting with different people all over the world and I met 2 really nice Japanese and a Korean that studies in Hong Kong and is back home for exchange? The funny thing was that the Japanese can't really speak/understand fluent English so we had a little hard time conversing. Then all of us ended up speaking in Korean cos they learned Korean and it was more comfortable for them. I'm still amazed by how I can survive here with the Korean I learned mainly from dramas hahaha. The buddies were pretty impressed that I didn't take any lessons and picked Korean on my own, sounding good in pronunciation most prolly cos I learn from dramas too. Told ya watching dramas is useful after all!
It was lunch time and all of us were given a meal coupon with a maximum spending of 5000 won! Just grab only haha the side dishes were mostly like 200won only so it's really pretty hard to max out. I should have gotten more yoghurt and drinks to bring home, saw the others doing that HAHA #cheapskate
It was IT session to create our student ID before we head on a campus tour. It was pretty boring and I left halfway with Wen Min haha but overall the campus is simply gorgeous!
Their One Stop Service Centre with just amazing exterior, not like ours at YIH lolol
Some shots with the campus because I realised this post is gonna be boring without my face right right hehehe :b
Walked back home with Wen Min, the walk wasn't as far as we thought, prolly less than 15min from the main gate. Took a short nap and had dinner with Sherri nearby! We are always on a constant lookout for shops with shabby exteriors cos they look more authentic and cheap, but the criteria is there must be customers inside (singaporean mindset: got people eat means nice) LOLOL
Here's the choice for the day, looking shabby enough eh? It says Chun Cheot Kul Dal Gal Bi :)
Their signature is dalgalbi (what Yoogane in Singapore sells) but it was a little expensive, like 7000won and they didnt allowed sharing. So we ordered Octopus fried rice which was 4500won (S$5 ea) and it was really good, cooked right in front of us. Serving was huge as usual but satisfying!
Had a short stroll after dinner, date with my beloved suda mei hehe and I can finally haz time to watch some shows! Put on a mask from Nature Republic we got few days back which was really cheap haha loving the me time :D
*Video includes orientation day 2 as well!*
