☼ A day at the River Safari ☁

After much procrastination mainly due to my heavy school workload and exams, I finally managed to take time to bring my mum on an excursion to the River Safari as a promised birthday present for her!
RIVER SAFARI
80 Mandai Road, Singapore 729826
Purchase the tickets online for 5% discount for most debit/credit cards (U.P. $25/adult)! You may also purchase the boat tickets at $5 online and book your timeslot online to avoid queues at the entry, just make sure you make it in time for the slot that you've chosen!

The park is pretty accessible by taking bus 138 from Ang Mo Kio Hub Bus Interchange and you'll definitely know where to alight since most of the people onboard are heading towards the same destination anyway!

Here's Mama Kwong & I at the entrance, posing like tourists teeheee!

One of the bigger tanks in the park! Some of you may know that I used to have a really bad phobia for aquariums when I was young, probably caused by a visit to an aquarium in Langkawi long time ago and I was really afraid of those humongous sharks and the poor lighting. Poor me always had nightmares of full length aquariums ever since and didn't dare to step into any aquariums later on haha. My phobia was finally overcame in my teen years when I had a free ticket to visit the older one at Sentosa and realised it wasn't all that bad after all hehehe :b

My favourite exhibit of the park... RED PANDAAAAAAS OMG!! They're so nua and adorbs oh my gosh they look so snugglyyyyyy! Definitely paying the ticket just to see you little qt!

Another highlight of the exhibit, big fat lazy jiajia/kaikai haha I've not idea how to differentiate them but I think he's jiajia that's greedier lolol

Queuing for our turn at the Amazon boat quest!

If you wanna know if it's a good idea to pay extra for the boat ride, check out this video that we took! It's a short 10min ride to see animals that you can't see in the park without paying for the boat but it's really difficult to spot the animals depending on the time slot you choose. I chose the 1pm one and most of them are snoozing away so it's really nothing much to see. The other highlight, Jaguar was hiding and sleeping at one corner too ): I guess the best part of the ride was the slight slopes like a roller coaster hehehehe!

Well, verdict of the trip, only worth a visit for me? I'm not really into river creatures like exotic fishes so the main highlights were the furry animals for me. Maybe you can pay just to see red panda... HAHAHA anyway I took less than half a day to finish the entire park, prolly 2 hours or so but it's rather crowded since we went on a Saturday! Pretty good place for family to go afterall, bring your little kids for an educational tour! :)
