Friday
Gathered at club room and had briefing an hour before heading to wait and register for the freshies. There were initially 15 freshies but ended up with lesser since some had things on, thus ended up with 10, with only 2 girls. I was the GL for my group, GRONCKLE♥ with nicolas lim as my partner.
Introduced ourselves to everyone in the LT and led the freshies to sport com for icebreaking games. Forfeit was funny and I had to dance chicky dance in the middle of other group hahahaha lol! Taught them my g-r-o-n-c-k-l-e cheer and the bad romance one. I came up with them on my own! Not awesome or what but I'm quite proud of it, as least produced sth :) I completely love the roaring bad romance one, 'cause it got us through lot of station games :D
Then we had our flag bidding there. Kiasu us bidded for a masking tape and construction papers that only cost us like 150 points! Hahaha but the flag was an epic fail, the letters just dropped out like nobody's business, haha! Felt super guilty when our group was approached by 02 people to sell drinks and I said no 'cause was engrossed in the flag making. Then I realise it was for fund raising for Ridzwan. I felt mad guilty and super bad Didn't had a chance to say sorry, omg I feel super rude ): ): ): Seriously sorry to xy and jas! D:
Watched the soccer game and had dinner. And finally we had our night amazing race. It was somehow awesome 'cause I actually lost fats through the running we've got, though I wasn't fast lah, hahaha. We had to run to so many places! Sports com>triangular garden>V-ball court>EN10-1>EN23-1>IT>Sports com>EN23-1! I'm proud to say we ended up 1st position with Toogee! (There was a total of 8 groups.) Love the teamwork we had! My freshies rock like mad, they were so sporting and ran so fast, enthu for the games and tried so hard to excel in each stations! Didn't expect my group to win 'cause I thought I lagged the team and slowed them down. So proud of them!
Then we finally have a long awaited night walk! It was an interesting story about two pair of twins. Teehee the guys are really cute, they wanna protect girls but they're also feeling scared themselves. And we managed to brace through the stations and got the story all figured out with GL's hints here and there :) These freshies are damn smart, A-W-E-S-O-M-E okay!
The day finally ended by 1 plus and we had our debrief. I guess there were more plus points. No offence to FO people but there were several of my freshies that even said it was better than FO, damn shocked but happy like crazy! Many people got surprised by my performance as a GL, like so not me, hahaha especially my classmates. I was super different from my normal self. Think it's 'cause I was loud and quite high :B Self-praise abit, LOL. Got complimented by org leh, hahahah lol! I think all GLs are superb and could really see the high AMS spirit going on :)
Showered and slept at 3. Wasn't really able to fall asleep, so just shut eyes for some rest.
Saturday
The freshies are like super awesome, they woke up even earlier than us! Fall in was 8 but they woke at like 7, so adorable ah. ;) Had our cute PT followed by discussions about group performance later on in the evening. Breakfast and then station games! Cheered alot and though we didn't excel or what, was really proud that my freshies weren't discouraged and said it's all about teamwork! Sweet ;] Huntgry followed and we did some stupid stuffs, still love GRONCKLE's spirit though all of us were like tired.
Lunch afterwards and taught handsign song. My freshies are damn fast learners. :) Tp mass dance followed.
Was supposed to have wet games but it rained a little with cad 1 lightning and we had to cancel it in the end. Got some group time and we started discussing further about our performance. Ended up merging with Liyana&Donovan's group NAZGUL! ;] Settled for a talent show I suggested and it ended up really well! It caught so much attention and applause! Super entertaining leh I think. Hahahaha. We had my freshie Ian to start by performing some funny stage fright and Irfun to dance, damn pro. Then magic show by 4 freshies, super funny one! Learnt a super cool one from them! :D Then followed by Nazgul's hi-5 impersonate show! GLs were the host/judges throughout the performances. :)
Then we had our very own ORAN-G-L hot hot hot show! HOT HOT HOT HOT THAT'S VERY HOT! Scroll down for the video we impersonated from the chocoboys.
Since wet games were cancelled we had to end it early and had our freshies to pack up and come back to LT for a video presentation, lotsa unglam pictures! :)Cheered and stuffs before bidding them goodbye, was very unwilling to end the camp though ): GLs then pack and head for debrief, photos and dinner at Techno.
I'm seriously happy that I decided to become a GL. It's a lifetime rare opportunity for me. It's like something I never thought I would do, and even love it so much. I've made so many friends in ams that I might never will 'cause we don't really have the opportunity to interact. I think I revealed a different side of me, one which I didn't even know I had :) Got closer with classmates and stuff. Just really super happy that I can't express in words lah. Super big thankyou to the head, org, prog, log, foodmin, gls, freshies and especially our head crew Samson & Persis that did sucha freaking awesome job. This camp would be impossible without these people :)
This camp brought my love for AMS back. I mad love everyone deep deep, hahahaha! ;]
